Learning strategies through digital games in a university context

The relationship between digital games and the mobilization of cognitive metacognitive learning strategies deserves attention needs research that contributes to understanding how these can favor teaching processes. This study describes university students over 18 years age mobilize through games. methodology used was ex post facto with a quantitative approach. 941 from 22 States Federal District, enrolled in higher education courses at Brazilian colleges universities, participated this research. Data collection occurred application an online questionnaire integrates Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) Cognitive Strategies Digital Games (ICMSDG). results indicated make regular use knowledge, skills, strategies. Moreover, seem be more mobilized by game players than non-players, particularly among those who played longer period time (9 or more) intensity (playing every day). With found analyzed, we observe is relevant for both professors designers aim promote metacognition skills. La relación entre los juegos digitales y la movilización de estrategias aprendizaje cognitivas metacognitivas merece atención requiere investigaciones que contribuyan comprensión cómo estas pueden favorecer procesos enseñanza aprendizaje.
